As a college student, there are very rarely days where I feel un-rushed, content and am able to enjoy my day at a leisurely pace. These are days that I often take for granted.
When posed with the question, “What makes your day?” countless thoughts run through my head. My day is made when I get to spend Sundays in my favorite coffee shop with my best friends catching up on that week’s work. My day is made after shopping with my mom, joking over our differences in taste and trying not to buy every outfit in the windows. My day is made when my dad and I spend a night in watching one of the newest movies released On Demand and intently discussing the film as the credits roll. My day is made after breakfast dates with my boyfriend, a luxury not often granted to us thanks to the three-hour commute from Cincinnati to Athens. The list goes on and on.
Solace is an emotion that I’d like to feel more often. The days where I can physically feel the stress of class, work and my other responsibilities being lifted off of my shoulders are few and far between. This semester, it’s been my intention to focus more on the little things in life that make me happy. Being part of LVNG Limitless has already given me an outlet to remind myself that, no matter how overwhelming life may get, it’s important to focus on the good things in life. Now, I make a conscious effort to ask myself, “What makes me happy?” everyday and focus more of my energy into that.
