If you asked me today if I were a senior, I would have a hard time saying yes. To me, it seems totally unreal that I could be adulting this time next year, and frankly, it’s scary— but I’m excited. Graduating from college opens the door for a new home, more friends and, hopefully, a rewarding journey.
Senior year snuck up behind me relatively quick, and I am still trying to wrap my head around it. I compiled enough credits to place me a year ahead, and as a result, I’ll only be 19 years old when I start my final year at Ohio University. To me, that’s one of my biggest fears— I’ll be entering the real world before I’m of age, and I am terrified that I won’t be taken seriously, regardless of having a degree. For myself, I’m declaring my senior year to be a year of self-validation, and I hope to feel more comfortable with who I am and where I will fit in within the workplace.
With the semester only a week away, I’m most excited to spend every free minute with my friends. I do believe that friendships last a lifetime, but I am realistic in the fact that things change when you’re not five minutes apart every day. I want to make as many memories as I can with my girl gang, with enough stories to last a lifetime!
Frankly, my road to graduation hasn’t quite started yet, but I do know what I want out of the experience! As I go through my senior year, stay tuned for updates on where I am, what I’m doing and what advice I have to offer!
